Proposed Restrictions on Child Farm Labor Dropped

More American youth under the age of 18 die in farming accidents each year than in all other occupations combined. Kids employed on farms also suffer a disproportionate number of work injuries.  Yet following endless criticism from Republicans, the Obama White House has withdrawn proposals for new restrictions on child labor on family farms. Latino Workers in U.S. Suffer Highest Rates of Workplace Fatalities

One of the most disturbing trends in the American workforce is the high correlation between race and the likelihood of being killed on the job.  Fatality rates for Latino workers in the U.S. are considerably higher than for workers overall.
