Background
Jackson Stephens is an Emery | Reddy attorney based in San Diego, California. His practice focuses on class action litigation, data privacy, and employment rights.
Prior to joining Emery | Reddy, Jackson served in the U.S. Navy JAG Corps and as an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Arizona, where he investigated and tried cases involving cybercrime, online narcotics trafficking, and technology-related fraud. He later served as senior counsel for a cybersecurity company, advising organizations on data security and cyber risk. He now draws on that experience to represent consumers affected by data breaches and privacy violations.
An experienced trial lawyer, Jackson has conducted more than 50 jury trials. He holds an LL.M. in Trial Advocacy and Advanced Litigation from UCLA School of Law and mentors law students and practicing attorneys in trial advocacy through the National Institute for Trial Advocacy and the University of San Diego School of Law.
Jackson is also the creator of Beaches and Breaches, a cybersecurity vlog covering legal and industry developments in privacy, cybercrime, and data security.
Jackson lives in Cardiff-by-the-Sea with his family. When he’s not litigating, he can usually be found surfing, coaching youth baseball, or trying to convince his children that AI, cybersecurity, and 3D printing are more interesting than YouTube. Despite years of effort, he has yet to meet his burden of persuasion.
