On January 31, 2025, Chapman & Associates PC (“Chapman”) discovered a network security incident involving its internal systems. According to the notice, an unauthorized third party may have accessed certain personal information maintained within the firm’s environment.

Upon discovering the incident, Chapman promptly engaged third‑party forensic specialists to secure its network, investigate the scope of the breach, and determine whether any personal data had been accessed. Chapman reported that it worked to confirm the integrity of its systems and remediate the vulnerability.

Following a comprehensive review of the potentially impacted data, Chapman determined on February 2, 2026, that certain personal information associated with individuals whose data was handled in litigation or related legal matters may have been involved in the incident. In many cases, individuals may not have been direct parties to the litigation, but their information was part of materials handled by the firm.

After completing its investigation, Chapman began issuing written notification letters to impacted individuals. The notification letters were dated February 6, 2026, and included information about the incident, the types of data involved, and the identity protection services available to affected individuals.

Chapman & Associates PC is a law firm with offices in California, Michigan, and Florida.

They may have handled healthcare litigation in which your information was involved, even though you were not a party to the litigation.

The breach involved unauthorized access by an external actor who gained entry into the firm’s network environment.

Following the incident, Chapman stated it is taking steps to minimize the risk of similar incidents in the future and is providing impacted individuals with twelve (12) months of complimentary Single Bureau Credit Monitoring, credit reports, credit scores, and proactive fraud assistance services through Cyberscout, a TransUnion company.

Your Personally Identifiable Information (PII) includes information that can be used to identify you. Impacted individuals are encouraged to follow the instructions provided in the Chapman notification letter regarding enrollment in complimentary Cyberscout identity protection services.
