On or about July 2026, the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota (“Saint Paul”) reported a cybersecurity incident affecting certain municipal systems. According to the City’s Cyber Incident Information Hub, Saint Paul identified suspicious activity within its network environment and promptly took steps to secure affected systems, initiate an investigation, and assess the nature and scope of the incident.

Following the initial response, Saint Paul engaged cybersecurity professionals to assist with forensic analysis and determine whether any systems or data were impacted. At this time, the investigation remains ongoing, and the City continues working to identify what information, if any, may have been accessed without authorization.

Because of the complexity of municipal systems, it may take additional time for Saint Paul to determine whether personal information was involved and to identify any affected individuals.
After identifying the issue, Saint Paul implemented measures to contain the incident and began working to restore systems and enhance its cybersecurity protections.

The City of Saint Paul is the capital of Minnesota and provides a wide range of public services, including utilities, licensing, public safety, and administrative services to residents, employees, and other individuals who interact with the City.

Saint Paul has not yet confirmed whether any personal information has been misused. However, the investigation has determined that a cybersecurity incident occurred that may have affected certain systems.

At this time, it is not clear whether notification letters have been issued. If you receive a notice from the City of Saint Paul, it will confirm that your personal information may have been involved in the incident.
