On or about May 1, 2026, KerberRose Wealth Management, LLC (“KerberRose”) became aware of suspicious activity involving an employee email account. According to the Notice of Data Breach, the company promptly took steps to isolate the affected environment and initiated an investigation with the assistance of a third-party forensic security firm.
Following the initial investigation, KerberRose confirmed that an unauthorized third party had gained access to the email account on April 29, 2026, which resulted in limited access to a portion of a backup platform used in its wealth management operations. After identifying the impacted systems and data, KerberRose worked to secure its environment and strengthen internal safeguards. The company reported that the incident was contained to a limited portion of its systems and did not impact other areas of its business, including CPA and tax services.
KerberRose Wealth Management, LLC provides financial planning, wealth management, and retirement plan services to individuals and organizations. The firm has over 13 locations across Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
KerberRose also stated that it has not identified any evidence that the affected personal information has been misused. However, the investigation confirmed that unauthorized access to certain data may have occurred.
