Palacios Marine & Industrial Coatings, Inc. Data Breach

On or about September 30, 2025, Palacios Marine & Industrial Coatings, Inc. (“PMI”) detected irregular activity within its computer network. According to the notice, PMI immediately took steps to secure its systems and launched an investigation to determine the nature and scope of the incident.

The investigation determined that an unauthorized actor gained access to certain PMI computer systems on September 30, 2025, and may have accessed or acquired files stored on those systems. PMI reported that it has no evidence at this time that the affected information has been used for fraud or identity theft.

After learning that the incident may have impacted certain individuals, PMI conducted a review of the affected systems and data to determine what information was involved and which individuals may have been affected.

Following this review, PMI began issuing notice to individuals whose information was present in the systems at the time of the incident. PMI stated that it will also notify state regulators, as required by law. Additional information and updates may be provided as the review process continues.

Palacios Marine & Industrial (PMI) was incorporated in 2003 and is a privately held company. The company’s services include turnarounds, shutdowns, maintenance, construction, structural steel installation, piping system installation, equipment setting, heat exchanger retubes, hydro-blasting, scaffolding, insulation, blasting, painting, tank linings, janitorial services, engineering and terminal operations.

Following the incident, PMI stated it is reviewing existing security policies and procedures and evaluating additional safeguards to further protect sensitive information. PMI is also offering impacted individuals credit monitoring and identity theft protection services through Kroll.
