YouLend provides small business financing embedded inside platforms like Shopify and eBay, so many small business owners may not immediately recognize the name. The company has confirmed a data breach exposing Social Security numbers, dates of birth, and financial account information.

YouLend US LLC, a small business financing provider that partners with e-commerce and payment platforms to offer revenue-based financing and merchant cash advances, has notified individuals of a data breach involving sensitive personal and financial information. According to YouLend’s notice, the company received alerts of a disruption to its computer network on June 9, 2026. An investigation with outside cybersecurity specialists determined that YouLend’s network had been accessed without authorization between June 5 and June 9, 2026, and that files containing personal information were acquired during that time.

YouLend began mailing notice letters to affected individuals on August 26, 2026, roughly two and a half months after the intrusion was identified. A Rhode Island-specific disclosure in the notice confirms at least 89 affected Rhode Island residents; YouLend has not disclosed a national total.

Why You May Not Recognize the Name YouLend

YouLend does not typically deal with small business owners under its own brand alone. It operates as an embedded financing partner behind platforms such as Shopify, eBay, and various payment processors, offering revenue-based financing and cash advances of between $1,000 and $1 million. A small business owner who applied for or received financing through one of these partner platforms may have done so without YouLend’s name standing out as the lender. Anyone who has ever accepted a financing offer tied to their business’s card sales or online sales platform may be part of this incident, even without recalling the YouLend name specifically.

What Information Was Exposed?
