On or about November 17, 2025, First Advantage Corporation (“First Advantage”) became aware of suspicious activity involving an employee email account. According to the Notice of Security Incident, the company promptly launched an investigation after discovering that an unauthorized third party gained access through a phishing attack.
The investigation determined that the unauthorized actor accessed the account on or about November 13, 2025, and used that access to download the contents of the employee’s email inbox. Because of the need to review affected communications and determine what information was involved, First Advantage conducted a detailed analysis before notifying impacted individuals.
Following the incident, First Advantage disabled the compromised account and implemented additional safeguards across its systems to strengthen security and prevent similar incidents in the future.
