Molecular Testing Labs Data Breach

December 15, 2025

NOTICE: If you received a NOTICE OF DATA BREACH letter from Molecular Testing Labs, contact Emery | Reddy, PC at 916.995.5968 for a Free Case Review.

On or about March 11, 2025, Molecular Testing Labs (“MTL”) discovered that a data hosting and security vendor retained by MTL had experienced a cybersecurity incident impacting MTL systems and data. The company immediately launched an investigation, engaged a national cybersecurity firm, and notified law enforcement. A forensic review determined that unauthorized access occurred between March 7, 2025, and March 11, 2025.

While there is no evidence that personal information has been misused, MTL concluded that certain sensitive data may have been involved. Out of caution, MTL is notifying affected individuals and offering complimentary credit monitoring and fraud assistance services through Cyberscout (a TransUnion company).

Molecular Testing Labs is a diagnostic laboratory that provides specialized testing services to healthcare providers nationwide including analyzing genetic material (DNA/RNA) for infectious diseases, pharmacogenetics (how genes affect drug response), and toxicology.

Following the breach, MTL implemented enhanced security measures and continues to monitor its systems.

If you received a Data Breach notification letter from MTL, it confirms that your information was potentially impacted.
